What is Written?
What isn’t?
Press releases, crisis communications, staff bios, case studies, annual reports, UX writing, admissions materials, websites, branded content, blog posts, white papers, client stories… it’s all written.
And it doesn’t write itself.
Written is writers.
But there’s more to the story.
A division of Mathys+Potestio creative staffing, the Written team connects contract and full-time writers with clients in strategic communications, content management, and other editorial roles.
We represent experienced, specialized writers, editors, content strategists, proofreaders… real deal communicators. They speak your industry’s language, understand your messaging challenges, and know how to reach your audience.
Written is focused 110% on word people. Not math people.
Let’s say, for example, you need—oh, I don’t know—a headline writer.
Better make that an editor. Or maybe you’re overdue for that thought-leadership blog post and you’re too busy leading thoughts to write it yourself. A ghost writer would be good for that. Or you just finished writing a case study and need a second set of eyes on it. You could ask your co-worker, again, or you can call us for a proofreader. A real one.
If your challenge is around written content—and sourcing the talent for it—we can help. That’s all we do, and we’ve been doing it for decades.

Written matches you with the right writing talent for contract assignments, contract-to-hire, permanent hires or projects. On site or remote. We manage all payroll, 1099 contracts, benefits, and insurance, so you can stop hunting for talent and get back to your day job. Remember that job?
What do you need written?
It starts there, then several more questions. Which audiences are you trying to reach? What industry or subject-matter experience is a must for your writer? Desired style, voice, tone? And the basics, like timeline, budget, deliverables… all the details that will lead to a smooth, successful engagement.
We dive into our writer pool and shortlist the ones we believe are best for your job. We qualify them on experience, availability, rate and enthusiasm. Yes, enthusiasm.
Algorithms don’t screen for ho hum, but we do.
Qualified candidates are presented to you with a write up, relevant writing samples and bill rate. Of the ones you like, we facilitate a meeting, either in person, by phone or via video call. You make your pick, we set up the kick-off, then step out of the way while you get to work. Of course, we’re always here if you need us.
After many years of matching talent to tasks, we know the right questions to ask, and we’ve learned they need to be asked in a real conversation, not an online form. If you’d like our help finding you the right writer, we’d love to talk with you.
